- Calibrate Your Hygrometer: Before seasoning, ensure your hygrometer is accurate. Place it in a sealed bag with a Boveda calibration kit or a salt test for 24-48 hours and adjust as needed.
- Prepare the Humidifier: Submerge the included humidifier in a 50/50 solution of distilled water and propylene glycol (or just distilled water) for 15 minutes. Wipe off any excess water before placing it inside the humidor.
- Wipe Down the Interior: Lightly dampen a new sponge or cloth with distilled water and gently wipe the entire interior Spanish cedar surface, including the lid and any trays or dividers.
- Stabilize the Humidity: Close the humidor with the damp sponge (not touching the wood) and the prepared humidifier inside. Leave it closed for 24-72 hours, or until the hygrometer reads a stable 68-72% relative humidity. Once stable, remove the sponge and your humidor is ready to be stocked.
