Step 1: Initial Wipe-Down
Lightly wipe the interior Spanish Cedar lining with a clean cloth or sponge dampened with distilled water. Do not oversaturate the wood.
Step 2: Prepare the Humidifier
Using the included dropper, apply distilled water to the bar humidifier. Alternatively, you can place it upside-down in a shallow dish of distilled water for 3-5 minutes. Wipe off any excess water.
Step 3: First Seasoning Period
Place the prepared humidifier inside the empty humidor, close the lid, and let it sit for 24 hours. This allows the cedar to absorb moisture gradually.
Step 4: Final Seasoning & Use
After 24 hours, repeat the process one more time. Once the second 24-hour period is complete, your humidor is seasoned and ready. You can now add your cigars. Periodically check the hygrometer and re-moisten the humidifier as needed to maintain 65-75% RH.
